Windows Central Question

I need to retrieve contacts off of my old phone.

I have a Nokia Lumia 635 phone which fell into water. The screen was slightly cracked when this happened. I dried the phone out. It came on but had touch screen problems. I am no longer able to do anything by using the touch features. I purchased a new Nokia Lumia phone in the last couple of days. For some reason, the Nokia 635 contacts are not in my Microsoft Account. The only contacts are the ones that I recently put in. The Windows store could not repair the phone or find the contacts since the screen didn't work. Local phone companies in the mall don't service this phone's touch screen. I have retrieved all of the files that appeared (photos mainly). There was not a People or Contacts file. I have tried to hard wire a mouse to the phone with a USB OTG. It didn't work. I have tried ActiveSync. Not sure that that was a right move. I've tried connecting it to the computer (I have Windows 10 on my PC), but could and didn't find any contacts. I have looked at the SIM card on computer and found "no contacts" listed. I never use Bluetooth and it's not turned on. The screen is perfect, but the touch doesn't work. I took it to the AT & T store and they needed the touch screen to bypass my settings. My only thoughts now are to find someone who can fix the touchscreen, lose all of the contacts and to ask you. Please advise. I have a new phone waiting (and hoping) for the install of my legacy of contacts. I really thought they were backed up on Outlook or somewhere on my computer. I just don't know if they are. Please help.

Re: I need to retrieve contacts off of my old phone.

Welcome to Windows Central.

With no way to access the contents of the phone and without having the contacts synchronized to your Microsoft account, there seems to be no way to retrieve those contact information from your phone.
