How do I back up contacts?

Have transferred my contacts from old type phone to new nokia lumia 630 then thrown away old sim card. Day after dropped my phone and cant see the screen to back up the phone and need the contacts.

Haven't got a Microsoft account either, is there anything I can do to get my contacts off?

You can try to plug the phone into a computer and see if you can recover that information. I hate to be the guy to tell you after the fact, but you really should log into a smartphone with an account. Once your contacts are backed up into Outlook or Gmail or whatever, you have them safe, regardless of what happens to your phone.
