How do I delete Facebook Messages on my surface?

Hi I hope someone can help me. All of my chat messaging from facebook shows up on the messaging tile of my surface screen. Is there a way to delete them? Thanks so much for the help.

I've been using Windows 8 since August and from what I can tell, you cannot delete messages from within the People hub. You actually have to log into the web version and delete them. Now, before any bashes on the People hub, the People hub is not a complete replacement app to view Facebook. People Hub gives you enough to view your messages, newsfeed, and be able to post. This is something I had to understand myself when I first started using Windows 8.

To delete a message from Messaging Hub, select message, then swipe up from the bottom of screen to reveal delete option (bottom right).

I do not manage to delete messages from the Surface Mail facility reaching it from AOL, whereas on AOL itself there is a "delete" tab for each message.
