How do I get my app featured on the store?

I have a few apps and a game which get good 5 start ratings daily , So I have made the promotional images for them of resolutions 1000x800,358x358 and 358x173 but none of the apps ever got a spotlight on the store , Is there anything else needed to be done apart from uploading promotional images ? I have seen app's without any ratings getting featured on the store

Totally unhelpful answer here, but I don't have a clue I have a game which I just updated that's getting featured over the next few days, and it doesn't have any reviews and has less than 20 downloads... And all I did was make the promotional images, I didn't contact them or anything.
I think it just comes down to what the store curators think looks good and has the most chance of being a success?
Here's hoping your apps do eventually get featured

We got a feature for our game Climbin' Carl once awhile back, there really isn't anything special we did. I think they just look through apps that have been updated recently and decide to feature a few of them. A bit later, our app was featured just in the Australian store. Not sure why.

If there is a system at work, it's very mysterious.
