How do I get Skype working on my Surface 2?

Skype wont work on Surface 2

hey! so, i just got my surface 2 and am trying to use skype. i sign into my microsoft account and what not, and go to skype- only every time i do, it wont let me sign in to the skype account, which is different from my microsoft account.

it just says "unable to sign in" or something to that effect. i just want to use skype

Try signing in with your Microsoft account just to see if it works.

Skype worked fine when I had my Surface 2. I don't remember how I did it right off hand, (I had a different username and pass for Skype as well.. ) but I ended up merging that old Skype handle into my Microsoft account sign in.
