How do I make my RT battery last longer?

Hello, I recently got a new Surface RT and noticed the battery is pretty ****e, it probably drops 1% every 3-6 minutes, and sometimes a lot faster, I have the brightness turned down to as low as it can go and I also have most of the live tiles off, apart with weather and news, is there anything else in the background which is probably draining my battery so much? It does not even last a day. =(
