How do I set a cutom ringtone for a specific contact?

Just bought a Nokia Lumia 640

I've downloaded some MP3's for ringtones, the one I've set for "general" calls is working fine.

I've just tried to set a different MP3 tone for a specific contact, but it's not working .. it's using the one I've set for "general" calls.

Is it not possible to use custom ringtones for individual contacts?

Or can you only use one custom ringtone at a time regardless?

Go into the People app

Tap on the contact that you want the ring tone for.

Tap the pencil (edit) icon

Tap the relevant option for assigning a ring tone or text tone. This will now be associated with only this contact.

can we get an answer that works? this placebo of setting a ringtone is not working, as the default ringtone is all that applies, regardless of what is set for the contact.

did you save it after changing it? you have to or it don't save it

Go to people and Edit .
Save number , click edit again save a image, click edit again ,options text tone, ringtone.
