How do I set up my new 640XL?

Setup new phone 640 xl

Updated to 586.29 all looks fine until I want to add new numbers or text someone,

selecting call icon and tried adding new contact you get a glimpse of the details page e.g. the circle for add photo, then it goes back to original screen before hand.

if i go look at any of my contacts and select them it only gives me option to skype call, or skype video, (no phone numbers visible or normal text options.)

while seeing the skype video and skype call, i cannot see a edit option on bottom.

if i start typing a phone number, all my contacts /numbers appear in the contact prediction section. and i can call, but if i click edit i get the following:-

add details?
You can't change this information on your device. but you can add details that will show up on their contact card.

clicking add tries to open and shows the add photo circle then it closes again.

tried hard reboot, and same again.

any suggestions/fixes?
the only other thing on my account at the current time is i had to change my phone number linked to my account due to moving to Netherlands, and unable to receive confirmation text on old sim as it has no signal over here. so I'm currently doing the 29 day waiting period before my phone details change. is this restricting my account editing options and will work after or?

You can edit your contacts: their profiles, birthdays, profile photos, phone numbers etc. on people.live.com. Skype+messaging apps have some issues and bugs on current Win10M builds. If soft reset doesn't help, try doing hard reset without using cloud backup.

Similar problem on the new Lumia 550 with migration from Lumia 620 with backup in cloud.
When setup the new 550 I choose backup from cloud.
Can't see any contact from people.com I can see only skype contacts. When tried to add a new contact app crashed.
So I can choose:
1) Make a factory reset and set up everything again (apps, profile, emails) but I have contacts.
2) Use cloud backup with all setting but without contacts
Fortunatelly in call history are some contacts so is not so hot during holidays
