How do I upgrade 8.1 apps to Windows 10 version?

how do I upgrade 8.1 apps to windows 10 version

I upgraded to 10 and went to get the newer versions of the USA Today and Twitter apps. however the store says already installed , even though it is the older 8.1 versions. How do I upgrade or do I have to delete the apps and reinstall them?

There are the same apps. There are no 8.1 versions + 10 versions.
W10 is backwards compatible, meaning old 8.1 apps will work on 10 as they are, but slowly and some with bugs.

So there are no such things as "win 10 versions". they are simply 8.1 apps OR 10 apss. A 10 app is totally different than an 8.1 app, so a 10 app needs to be written from scratch.
