Windows Central Question

Hi, I'm 43 and not a gamer. I am asking this question on behalf of my 7 year old.

Firstly I bought a 12 month Xbox Live Gold membership and my son uses it on his Xbox One at his mom's house (we're divorced btw).

I have an Xbox 360 at my place and he's trying to use the same Xbox Live Gold account on my Xbox 360.

Now to be honest, I have no idea what to do, so I went to the Redeem Code and put in the code of the key that I purchased a few months ago. Obviously the message came up and said that this code has been redeemed.

Would appreciate a step by step guide from anybody who can help me with this. I need a "Step by Step for fools" guide :)

Thanks again.

On the Xbox 360, sign in as the same Xbox Live account as on the Xbox One. That may actually be all you need to do. However, try going to Settings > All Settings > Personalisation and choose to make the Xbox 360 your home Xbox. That should be it. Although the steps above may not be entirely accurate, I only have an Xbox One.
