I just check t-mobile's website, it costs $149 after all the promotions. That looks reasonal for a smartphone. But there are better deals out there - some online retailers actually offer the phone for free plus $50 rebate. I wish this phone is available on the CDMA networks! If you already purchased the Dash, how much did it cost? Did you switch from another carrier, why? If not, how long have you been with T-Mobile?

I'm actually surprised to see that it's so expensive -- I'd assumed it was coming down in price faster than that.

The Dash is a great little phone, I agree, if you're looking at something similar on CDMA the Moto Q9M is on Verizon and coming soonish to Sprint.

IIRC we purchased our dash when it first came out for 199.

If you did a web search, you would've found out that they were giving these phones away for free with just a one year contract. The new rage is now the G1

I just checked and it's $49.99 for the brand new Black one. For my area code, at least.
Also, eBay (and other websites) have the phone listed around $100 new (silver/black).
edit: If you order via Amazon.com, it's free after rebates & instant discount. (actually, I think you get $100 back...)
