how much ram?

I always say get the most RAM you can afford, I went with the 16/256 model and I'm very happy with it...with that out of the way. It depends on what your habits are, are you going to be using many x86 (32bit) Applications? If so, get 16GB definitely as they run in emulated mode. If you are going to use ARM64 UWP Apps and ARM64 Edge, Chromium Edge or the ARM64 version of Firefox, 8GB should be fine depending on how many tabs you have open.

I use Office365 Pro Plus, Teams Desktop (emulated x86 32bit) and Chromium Edge Canary Browser, then I use UWP apps like DrawboardPDF, Power BI and PWA versions of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

I got the 8/256 model as its the one that I got a package deal on with keyboard & mouse for $1200ish
I read that emulated x86 apps only have access to the first 4GB anyway, so that wouldn't help much in that scenario. I've been very happy with the 8GB so far, handles Edge canary, XPO Music etc w/o any issue!

Wow where’d you get that deal? That’s a good price. I’m having a hard time justifying $1500 for this thing.

Each x86 App is assign a 4GB block of Virtual Address Space in WOW64, between Teams and the x86 part of Office, my x86 emulation is up to 7.5 GB of commit.

The answer is the same whether it's an ARM, Intel or AMD processer. It depends what you're doing.

But because currently all performance intensive apps are x86 and may not run well on Windows on ARM you probably won't be able to make much use for 16GB. But as others are saying if you are going to use a lot of x86 apps it makes sense you'll fill up 8GB.

I don't use many x86 apps. I use Edge, Outlook and Web Apps mostly.

I have 16GB because the guy listed it incorrectly on eBay but looking in Task Manager at most I use 6GB, maybe 7GB. I wouldn't pay more for 16GB.
