How to break your pen

Let me tell you how you can easily break your SP3 pen, so that maybe you won't.

I like clipping my pen to the Type Cover - right in that little groove. It looks so smart and convenient. While opening my car door, I held the SP3 under my arm - right by the arm pit while wearing a nylon shell vest/jacket. Well, right after I got the car door open, I grabbed the SP3 to put it in the front seat, but the pen went into my jacket sleeve. Because the pen is in the jacket when I pulled on the SP3, it snapped the pen as seen in the photo. That is one strong clip!



Anyways, MS Store gave me a new pen. Thumbs up to MS Store!

I'm pretty sure that you replace the battery that way, but I'm most probably wrong, as I don't own a Surface

Yea. I was at the MS Store event during the build conference, so I decided to show them my pen and ask for a replacement. Told him I have extended warranty on the SP3, but he just processed it without touching my warranty.
