Hi. Yesterday, insider preview build 14367 for PC was released. But my PC has already downloaded the previous build 14366 and the Windows Update page only shows the "Install now" button. Hence, I'm not able to check for updates.

Is there a way to skip this installation and freshly check for updates and download the latest build? I don't want to install two builds back to back. It will waste a whole lot of time. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

FYI, I have already tried using the Windows Update Hide/Show tool. It didn't work.

You tried..

Delete the hidden $WINDOWS.~BT folder
Stop the Windows update service
Rename c:\windows\softwaredistribution "I usually just add a 1 to the end and delete at a later time"
Restart the update service.

When you restart the service the software distribution folder is recreated and the catalogs are redownloaded when Windows update is next run so it may take a few minutes the next time wu is run.

Oh yes I had read about this earlier somewhere. Thanks. I'll give this a try.

PS:- It worked.
