how to change default txt tone while in conversation

I noticed that the default text tone is different from the tone that plays if you receive a text from the person you are already texting. Is it possible to change this, if so where?

I think I have noticed this too, I think its because the phone is on/being used/awake, and there for they don't want to disturb you with a loud notification, instead they give you a quiet little sound to notify you yet not totally annoy you in the middle of doing something, sorry I don't know how to change this, its like a set default sound.
