How to get 8.1 352 mb to update?

So, got this surface 2 32 gb a week ago and have it connected to wifi and waiting for it to get done updating. At this point it seems to of updated everything, but the last windows 8.1 update that measures about 352 mb. I get a message it couldnt down load. I check and it says it will install it at a later date. I reclick to install and it appears to download it.

Should I just give up and it will do this on its own? Once this update is done will it reset changes Ive made?

wait for it to do auto - install , check all updates via control panel / windows update ( for latest firmware etc and option updates ) too. also suggest shutting down surface via shutdown button inside windows to trigger installation for some updates.

Don't worry about it. It'll fix itself when it updates again. I always reboot after windows updates just for good measure. If you want to try and force it, reboot, and "check now" for updates again. Install all of em...

Rebooting worked. Now on to changing settings and backing up the os to a thumb drive to free up disk space.
