How to get Cortna on my phone?

It is not in my apps list
It does come up when i hit the search thing it comes up with bing
it isn't in settings then application
and i have a windows 8.1 phone
please help!

I have found it (finally)
but it says not available in this region - can i do anything about this?

Hi,
Cortana doesnt show in the app list of phones that have it but arent in the eligible region (For me it was the Lumia 830 in the Czech Republic). Set your phone language (settings -language) to English (united states), hit restart in the very menu and then set the country/region (settings - region) to United States and restart the phone again. Then Cortana should work.
