How to get rid of strange arrows on word document

I went on word and saw that there were some strange arrows at the top and bottom of the document. When I click on them it says 'edit header' but when I try to delete them, nothing happens.Does anyone know how to fix it?

I don't believe those arrows will print, I think they are just delineation marks. Have you tried printing OR doing a print preview?

They are formatting marks. Like @pkcable said, they won't print.
