WPCentral Question

I was one of those laid off by Microsoft last week. My Windows Phone 8.1 Dev Preview was joined to corporate Exchange so a PIN number was enforced on the lock screen. That Exchange account is now gone, so the restriction that requires a PIN should be gone as well. However, the option to disable the PIN is still greyed-out and disabled. How do I get the ability to remove the PIN back?

Thanks in advance!!!

What they should have done before removing your user account was to restore the policies for your phone so it was back to the state it was in before you joined. Quite surprising for a firm that size that they didn't do that.

You can always try going back to complain about the situation, really they should resolve it since they caused the issue. But if not I think the only solution would be a hard reset.

Hi,

I have the same problem here however I do not understand your answer.

I had a 4 digit pin code. I connected to the office365 of my client's company. They changed the password policy to 6 chars (alphanumeric).
I complied to this and changed my password (didn't have any choice).

Then I removed completely the mail account for this company.

Today, I still can't go back to 4 digits pin code. And the remove password button is greyed out.

To my eyes it is a bug in the windows phone OS, because other phones under Android did not have that problem.

How can I unlock my phone today ?

thanks for you answers.
Vincent
