How to select text in URL?

For some reason I need to do this a lot. Selecting part of the text in the URL in Edge.
I can either select the entire URL or sometimes I can manage to grab the handle at the start of the URL and move it but never the end of the line.
My method clearly works fine in every other app. Is there a special trick I can use for the browser address field?

I tried to use the virtual track pointer with shift or something but no luck. Double tap, press and hold, never works.

Have you tried rotating your phone to landscape first so you can see the end of the URL if it is a long one, that worked for me on my lumia 950XL. Don't know if it works with a really long URL.

No luck, doesn't matter the orientation really. I can get to what looks like the end, but no cursor for me to grab there. Only at the start
