Windows Central Question

Greetings,
I have an old home-built which I need to disconnect the Windows 10 license for it so that I can use that same Windows 10 on a brand new system I'm building. I know how to do it if
Windows is still installed (on the old system), but it's not.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Disconnecting a Win 10 license from one system to put it on another system

Greetings,

I'm shutting down my old home-built, which has Windows 10 on it, and I'll be building a brand new system, on which I want to put the old license. I've already wiped the hard drive of the old system, so I'm wondering how to go about transferring the license to the new system. Thanks.

Greetings,

Once the license has been activated to that system it is tied to the hardware ID. You can't then transfer that same license to another computer. Instead, you must purchase another license for the new computer.

I'm closing down my old home-fabricated, which has Windows 10 on it, and I'll be building a fresh out of the box new framework, on which I need to put the old permit. I've just cleaned the hard drive of the old framework, so I'm considering how to approach exchanging the permit to the new framework. Much obliged.

I'm guessing you're the original poster? :)

Did you check out the answers my 'co-workers' provided?
