How to unlock LUMIA 550

[Windows Central Question]

I live in Serbia phone is from the VIP Network.
Does anyone know how to unlock it.

To unlock a phone you normally ask your carrier for an unlock code, if you are actually going to change carrier you would also need the PUK code to give to your new carrier if you want to keep your number.

Do watch out as they often give you a different amount of days to complete the code inputs for unlock and PUK codes and this can cause an issue if you already have a new carrier lined up.
