How Would I Tackle Inaccessible OST File Situation?

So, I am using Exchange 2010 server and I have synchronized it with MS Outlook by enabling cache mode. Everything was fine until yesterday when I need to leave immediately for some work and while shutting down the machine some pop-up appeared and I was in so hurry that i couldn't read it and just switched off my machine and ignored the message. Now, today when i started the machine, I am hell shocked to see that I am unable to access my mailboxes. My OST file is just not opening and error message I am getting is unable to synchronize, I don't know what to do? Can anyone please help me out in figuring out the root problem.
