Microsoft's Chromebook competitor called HP Stream 14 are now available at retailers like Amazon. The HP Stream 14 is equpped with a quad core AMD micro-6400t APU, four Beats Audio speakers, 32GB SSD, 2GB DDR3L, 14" HD display, 32wh battery allowing operation up to 6-7 hours, OS Win 8.1, with pricing around $279 to $299 and could go lower during the holiday season.
Model color choices are currently natural silver, with neon purple and grass green to be available soon ( latter colors now selling in Europe).
Initial reviewers indicate that it has a pretty good built quality and it may have a brushed aluminum alloy deck around an island keyboard with clickable trackpad.
The HP Stream 14 runs silently without a fan, so you can hear and experience the full effects of the quad Beats Audio speakers.
