HTC 8x and AT&T Kaput?

I posted another thread my battery died and no solution made the phone come back on. Yesterday warranty support sent out a new refurb and I got it today. Curious, I looked on the AT&T site, and the 8x is nowhere to be found. Windowsphone.com only shows the 8x available for Sprint and T-Mobile. I may be late to the party, but this is news to me. I didn't know when I got this phone and used my upgrade to do it, that a) it would so troublesome I've had to replace it twice and b) that AT&T wasn't going to carry it anymore.
Does anybody else know anything about this? (I'm afraid I'm going to look like I live under a rock).

AT&T would have to offer another device if they no longer carry the 8X and no longer have any refurbished devices for warranty replacement.
