HTC 8X Radio Reception

Hi. I have the last firmware from HTC but the radio reception from my phone is simply awful. Is anyone having this problem or do I have a faulty unit?

Reception should be good in urban areas, however in fringe/rural areas reception will likely be much less

I believe the headphone cord is what acts as the antenna for the radio. I get fine reception of most all stations I would get from my car radio and they come in clear. Urban setting here. I can't speak to rural areas yet but I'd bet reception would be less for distant stations.

Reception and volume are great on my 8x depending on which headphones I use. In the house I sometimes connect the phone to my PCs speakers and can get reception with them as well, but not as good as connecting my headphones.

It's a function of the headphones. Try some different ones it might be better.

I'm using my headphone I got from my xperia SL. With the SL I had no reception problem but with this one, I find it strange. But still I'll try some other ones. Thanks
