HTC 8x seems dead. Recovery tool?

My dads HTC 8x seems dead... Kind of. It has a lightning bolt on the screen along with a gear, so I assumed it needed power to update, after being on the charger for an hour it did nothing. Same screen. And it doesn't even show that its charging. Is there anything like the Nokia recovery tool for HTC?

There is a Windows Phone Recovery Tool, you can try that.

Edit: Never mind, looks like Microsoft doesn't have the ROMs listed for recovery.

​Without saying of stupidity, WPRT detects the HTC 8X. However, currently all part behind it, on servers, is not ready to work with the HTC 8X. Microsoft has not again the system images (ROMs) for this device, at least not publicly.
