HTC Surround headphone quality?

I'm a slightly huge audiophile. I bought the Focus around 6 months ago and was really disappointed in the sound output in my headphones, it lacked bass and there was a sense of background noise. Is there anyone here who feels the same way about the surround, or has anyone used both and have a nice conclusion on the matter? I know the surround actually has an equalizer..so theres that. Thanks for the help!

The sound quality for me has been dependant on my headphones. I never used a Focus but have used the HTC Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S Android, etc.

With the Equalizer and Surround settings, I like the sound I get out of my Surround. Not with stock headphones of course. I have some Klipsch ones that sound pretty good and it can get some bass too.

There's an app called Sound Enhancer that you could download. There's a setting for headphones. Also, I hate that wifi noise in the headphones...
