I took a couple of videos today to use for HyperLapse. These are all at 16x speed.

Disclaimer: I turned on the video, then never looked at it once while driving. There may be some shakiness or off-tracking, because I was not looking at the device at all while driving. Had an emergency situation happened, I would have dropped the phone in a heartbeat. I would not endanger myself or others. Remember it is hyper-speed - everything is moving 16 times faster than real life.

So, with that said, here you go. The first two videos are mini-tours of parts of the campus of Georgia Tech. The first one is near Bobby Dodd Stadium, then along dorms and fraternities. The second one is going across the Interstate to what is called Technology Square. The last one is driving southbound from north of an area called Buckhead, down into Midtown, where the Georgia Tech campus is located.

Get a weighted base mount. The one I have was found at Walmart, is for GPS units and securely holds everything from a naked 520 to a 1520 in a case... It has never shifted on me. The weight and the sticky pad hold it in place without a permanent mount and it is easily stowed or moved between cars. The "lobster claw" holders adjust around the buttons.

<edit> Looks like Walmart isn't carrying them anymore.

Here's the manufacturer's site: https://causa-sandbox.okanjo.com/product/142229-goxt-dash-pad-style-phone-and-gps-holder-

Amazon has it. Amazon.com: Custom Accessories 23187 Phone/GPS Holder with Dash Pad: Automotive

Thanks - I'll look into that. In GA, evidently, it's illegal to use your phone, even as a GPS unit, while in motion. With a 5 inch screen and super fast satellite lock, my phone is a better GPS unit than stand alone GPS units. Maybe a mount like that would make it acceptable.

It looks to me like you would be alright for mounted Dash Cam and Navigation...

Texting is banned for all and no one under 18 may use a cell phone period, even with hands free assistance. I assume you are over 18...

I'd much rather think you had your phone in a cradle than in your hand. :)

Those darn rental car companies are lying to me then. I rent cars quite often for travel throughout the Southeast, and they old me it was illegal, so I had to rent a nav unit from them.

Go figure.

Not to hijack your thread, but here's a video of my own using the Hyperlapse app and then the Movie Maker app to add music (shot with a Lumia 830):

For comparison, here's a regular video edited only with Movie Maker shot on a Lumia 920. Nice, but the 830's OIS does a better job with video.

Maybe you should find out ??? :winktongue:

Gotta wait til the wife and kids all go to bed.

On a more serious note I don't see the pixilation you're talking about, on the phone of my Surface. I wonder if it looks that way to anyone else?
