I cant find cortana after Windows Phone 8.1 update--how do I fix it?

Hi,
I updated my Lumia 1520 to 8.1 this morning (Middle East, Saudi Arabia) but I couldn't find Cortana...!!!!

I am not sure if Cortana has been released for your region....try switching it to US

I switched the region to US, but I didn't find it also, is it going to be an app. in the app list, or should I activate it somewhere else?

Change the region to the US and the language to the US English; thereafter you should be able to find it on app list

I had to do a phone update after changing the language to US English in order to get Cortana in the app list. First, you wanna make sure you changed the region to US. Restart the phone. Then change your language to US English. Restart again. Now Cortana should be in your app list. If it's not, then check for a phone update, sometimes it needs an update to install a new language. After going through all these steps you should have Cortana.

I tried all the settings you have provided but Cortana is not available on the app list. My phone is also Updated.

Go to language settings and make sure US English is on the top of the list. If it's not, then long press on it and move it up to the top. You may need to restart the phone after this. If Cortana is still not there, then do a phone update if available.
Can you tell me what your language and region settings are right now?

i have the same problem after updating to 8.1. my region is Saudi Arabia but after changing to United States, i have Cortana in my application thank you guys.

Same problem here with a Lumia 930. It did work with my Lumia 920 but not with my 930. I've tried all this settings. I have WP 8.1 Update 1 installed. Some ideas?

make sure you have the US voice language installed as well. Then you can tap on cortana in the app list.

I have installed the US voice but unfortunately Cortana wont appear.

Why Cortana opens list of websites rather then giving answers. I asked few simple questions 1) who is the president of usa?
2) who is the prime minister of India?
3) who is the prime minster of England.
4) what is the time in Chicago right now.
5) what is the colour of sky.
Every time Cortana opened list of websites searched by bing.

Genuinely speaking.... I spent an hour to get Cortana but after 60 minutes of struggle I ended up with no conclusion..... I changed every possible setting to US yet no update appeared as well as no Cortana.....
