I can't update Windows 8.1 without upgrading to Windows 10, how do I bypass this update?

Cant update windows 8.1 without upgrading to windows 10

I have windows 8.1 and i cant update it unless i install windows 10 technical preview. I dont want to update to windows 10 yet but i cant install the normal updates. Is there any fix for this?

I have Windows 8.1 and it updates automatically with no problems or issues. Did Windows 8.1 come on your device? If not, where did you get 8.1?

Right click "This PC" and go to "Properties". Open "Windows Updates". View your "Optional" updates and you should see one for Windows 10 Technical Preview. Uncheck it and right click it and choose the "Hide Update" option.

I had the same issue back in December on my Windows 7 partition. It tried to install the Tech Preview during its usual updates. Microsoft really shouldn't have released the tech preview through Windows Update.
