I have Icon 8.1 denim and want to upgrade to latest windows mobile 10.

I use windows insider but it says I have an update I need to install before I get the latest build. the update is an earlier build which I do not want. How can I force it to go get the latest build and only do one update?

Probably you installed and "activated" the insider app already earlier resulting in an earlier build which was downloaded. If this is the case only a hard reset can solve tour problem. After the hard reset get start the insider app again and now you will only "get" the latest build.
