I have just upgraded to windows 10 on my Lenovo Yoga tablet 2 but not get a error code 0xc0000225.

W

WPCentral Question

It says "A required device inst connected or can't be accessed.

You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer." This tablet doesn't have a slot for standard USB as it only has a micro slot and no disc tray. Any help will be appreciated.

You will need to join to participate, please explain how did you upgrade in this thread - media creation tool, iso (in place update) or a clean install?

I just clicked on the pop-up icon on my taskbar. After the file was downloaded, another window popped up and ask if I wanted to install optional files before the installation. The files was in separate folders that was labeled windows 8.1 and windows 8.1 & later, I didn't add any of the optional files since I thought it would of not made any difference since I was going to be upgrading and using windows 10.

Ah I see via get windows 10 pop up, can you get into the recovery setup?

Power off the tablet, when powering on you will need to hold the power button and volume up button.

What options do you see?

Edit:
Use the quote button, so I know you've replied :).

On the Novo Menu I have 4 selections, they are Normal Startup (goes back to main blue screen till it turns off), BIOS Setup (the only menu I can do something on), Boot Menu (goes back to main blue screen till it turns off), and System Recovery (goes back to main blue screen till it turns off). At the BIOS setup I have 3 options to select, BIOS back flash (its currently off), USB debug support (currently off) and secure boot (currently on).

Okay, thanks I'll do some digging.

Edit: Looks like your best bet is to call lenovo's warranty call centre, explain what happened as it's no fault of your own and they should ship a recovery key out to you.

Once you get it, go back into menu, plug in the key and choose system recovery.

Also, on the BIOS setup, I can reset to setup mode and restore factory keys. Not sure if these are important but just noticed these options. Thank you for helping me.

Ahh, okay that's progress - bear in mind set up mode will without doubt wipe your device clean as will any recovery option since there is no way to access the storage media without damaging the device. Try reset to setup mode and what options do you get?

Yea I was afraid that you would say everything would be deleted, well I clicked reset to setup mode and it just turned the Secure Boot option off.

Oh, well... looks like your going to have to call Lenovo support (warranty) for the recovery key. You maybe able to recover some files however that is rather unlikely, as given the limited size of the available space they will pretty much over written in recovery process.
