I installed Windows 10 over 8.1 and my computer is running slow since then, why?

I installed windows 10 over 8.1 and my computer is running slow since then

I ran a virus check and a malware check and I had neither problem. what can I do to regain my computer speed.

Sometimes during important updates many useless registry files are left in the PC, you can use some applications like CCleaner and Glary Utilities, for cleaning those files. Also you can use the Disk Cleanup (Right click on OS drive - Properties) and then Clean up system files.
