I lost all my data with my Surface 2, how can I get it back?

i lost all my data with surface 2

I had a message on the starting screen telling me to restart the device to update some apps , after i did , it took so long to restart and then i discovered that it updated the windows itself , so i lost all my data , and i cant use any normal recovery data with this surface 2 its keep telling me to use apps from the store and i cant install a normal programs , so what to do ? I really need my data.
