I need help finding an article about customizing my windows phone.

So I can't really remember it this was an article here on Windows central or if it was a forum post but basically it described how you could create empty tiles to use as fillers on your home screen. I was also wondering it there is a way to make all the tiles clear, even the ones that normally are not. I know you can change the opacity and some or there apps will be clear but there are some that don't change.
