I really freakin' hate this

The notifications. How they don't clear when I check them somewhere else.
Example: flopbook. Most of the time, I check my facebook on my laptop. If I get notifications or messages, they show up on the tiles/notifications on my phone and they don't go away until I open the apps (fb and messenger). Even though I checked them online already. It's really annoying.
I don't understand why. If I get an email and I check outlook.com on my laptop, then the notification for email goes away on my phone. It should do that for FB too. FIX THIS, WP/MICROSOFT/FB/WHOEVER.

Calm down. The notifications are sent through push. If the notification is already there it cannot be erased I believe. Emails work a little different.

Same with iOS I believe, its just because of the one-way nature of push notifications.

I am guessing the background app is not finding out what you have seen recently. Otherwise it should be able to remove them
