I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8 and appear to be missing emails.How can I retrieve them?

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8 and appear to be missing emails

cannot see any emails in my folders pre-update. How can I retrieve them ? ?

What email client are you using? If your using IMAP like Yahoo, Gmail and Outlook.com the mail stays on the server and you view it with a client. Pop3 downloads to you machine in a folder you email client uses.
