I think I broke orientation awareness

I'm not sure I know the right term but I can no longer view photos full screen, in landscape mode, and the keys in the browser don't move when I rotate the phone so I'm stuck with the small keyboard. I think I caused this problem when I dropped the phone. The case opened and the battery came out. It's a Nokia Lumia 520. If I take off the cover and open the back is there something I can fix?

Try to soft reset, that should work. If not then, hard reset it.

The hard reset worked. Then I accidently swipped down and notice the rotation lock setting. I think I had accidently turned on rotation lock and all I had to do was turn it off. Those damn symbols at the top of the tiles aren't all self explanatory. No problem though because I took this opportunity to not activate any accounts so I don't think I'll be getting those annoying reminders to sync my contacts any more.

When someone holds the phone in landscape mode when rotation lock is on a notice should appear to say it's on and how to turn it off.
