to be fair, it isn't the only device that's hard to repair. alot of devices, like phones, have become harder to repair as well.

today's consumers demand the most stylish, sleekest designs that are technologically possible. manufacturers respond in kind, which unfortunately means repairability becomes harder. but more and more, shelf life of devices tend to be shorter as consumers are willingly switching out devices to stay "up to date" - just look at the lines outside apple stores filled with isheep who are eager to buy the latest apple device despite their already having working devices.

For some reason consumers are against having screws because it makes your device ugly. Fashion is more important than function on today's computing devices.

Have to admit I like how sleek, light, and portable many of today's devices are because of it, but I miss the days of easily fixing electronics as well.

Well as enthusiasts, we want to be able to crack open our devices, repair them, upgrade them ect. However, we only make up a fraction of consumers. The average person just needs their device to work and when it breaks, they buy a new one. The features that stand out to them are things like design, weight and branding which is what microsoft catered to.
