i was just thinking about how bad i want the nokia 900, cyan. my brother just got one. however i am stuck on verizon. and at least another 8 months or so before i can swap. however, i just got the 8107 update... which was a nice surprise.

so i was in the mall yesterday and i played with some of the tmobile windows phones, and really like them. the radar and the 710 are both really nice phones. good build quality. and belive it or not the rep said he loved windows phones and that they have been selling really well... '

point being, i realized i really do love my trophy. i am perfectly content with it. im not big on specs anymore. and because of that, there is no reason for me to get a new phone yet. now when some really big hardware improvements come, then it will be time. but for now, im happy!

so whos with me on this? anyone stuck on a contract or a carrier and forced to be patient? if so are you happy with your older wp7 device?

Yes, I have to stick with Verizon and very happy with my Trophy. Did you compare the speed/operation of your Trophy with your brother's 900? Have you considered a custom rom available at XDA-developers? You get things like hotspot and the Bazaar marketplace and many more theme colors/options.

still pretty darn pleased with my DVP but, I am getting envious of the new shinys out there (*cough* 900 *cough*) so it helps that I've still got a year to go on my current t-mobile contract. So, by this time next year we should have some darned spiffy new WP8 offerings out there and hopefully t-mo will be carrying some of them, otherwise the death star may very well be gaining me as a new customer at last.

I was still enjoying my Surround, especially after the forced 8107 update, when I got my L900. It was the available upgrade and $99 price that lured me in. Without those, would have had a lot to think about.

Don't you mean the "free" price tag now. :P

I'm currently with Sprint and have the Arrive. I went into a AT&T store to buy a Lumia 900 but after seeing the phone in person I decided I could wait a few more months for WP8. Don't get me wrong, it seems like a nice phone, but not enough to make me pay the ETF on Sprint (plus have buyers remorse later this year when the WP8 hardware is released)

I'd never get a new device if I thought that way... lol.

Every time I buy a device, another one is coming out that I'd want to get.

Luckily, I can't stand Android and don't have to worry about the 5 months released on a monthly basis.

I just bought a Lumia 900, but that was to replace a horrible Android that wasn't on contract.

If you're already in a contract, I would definitely wait to upgrade. I'd say within a year you will see some great new Windows phones from different carriers and there is a fair chance Windows Phone 8 may even be out, you may see dual core processors, higher res screens, more than 16 GB and 512 MB RAM.

I don't see any reason to upgrade early and pay for it if you already have a Windows Phone in good working order. Save your upgrade for later.

Since you have the Trophy, and (I assume) unlimited data, I vote you keep your device until a WP8 device comes out for Verizon. Once you get a 4G device there are so many ways you can blow through a data cap its not even funny...

I would like to hear more about the hotspot. I really miss it from my pre  Adapting the touchstone charger from my pre has made it easier to envision staying with this phone through the contract. And who knows what the landscape will look like by then!

I'm pretty happy with my Trophy. I do like the looks of some of the other phones but other than the Nokia exclusive apps they're all the same in the dark

I would expect to see WP8 devices in Q4 on all of the carriers, well, I do hope Verizon pulls it off and doesn't drag it out until CES 2013 with a summer 2013 release. If they do, unlimited data or not I will simply move on.

one thing i will say is it would be nice knowing what i am gettinh next... and i dont because i dont know what will be available when my contract is up. i wish verizon would get this running win8...

I'm not happy with my HD7. The battery plain sucks.

it does, wayyyyy too small for its 4.3 in screen, but it gets me through the day and I use it quite a bit listening to music, working out, messaging friends, and browsing the news.

Amazon.com: New Battery for HTC Hd7 HD3 T9292 Bd29100: Cell Phones & Accessories

Considered picking that up though because it DOES die if I don't charge it late in the day...1500 mAH versus stock 1230, not sure if there will be much a difference though...

not sure why they put a 1230 MAH IN THE HD7... BOGGLES ME... even my troohy has a 1500 mah, with a smaller screen. so it lasts me a full day with moderate use. i had an hd7 but had to give it up because tmo service was unbarable. but the device itself i actually enjoyed, didnt have major battery issues.

ways to conserve battery: keep wife turned off unless it is use, same with bluetooth. have emails update every 30 mins, not as they arrive. keep backlight on low/med, actually the flucuation of the auto baCKLIGHT DRAINS BATTERY FASTER THAN JUST KEEPING IT SET. remove apps they you dont use... some will run in the backgriound. so i would check. turn the screen off when you are finished, dont let it shut itself off. minimize live tiles... thats it... should help out a lot!

I love my Focus - I had the box for my Cyan Lumia in my hands today and decided to wait... I still may get it before the 21st. Not sure..

I might just wait for an Apollo phone..

This is tough lol
