Hey all....wondering if anyone knows, or if there is even a way to do the following....

I can move music from my computer(using windows media player)to my Nokia Lumia 521 no problem. What I am wondering is how to.is it possible to transfer an entire playlist from the computer to the phone and have it stay INTACT on the phone.

For example: If I have a playlist on my computer titled "Favorites" and I want to transfer it to my phone so all the songs in my playlist show up on my phone in the same playlist labeled "Favorites"...can I do that? Or do I have to recreate the playlist in the phone.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Brian

Plug your phone in, open up Windows Media Player (if it hasn't already), drag the playlist you want to sync into the sync window, then just press sync. Something along those lines.

Thanks...although that doesnt do what I'm looking for. I want the playlist to stay intact in the transfer and not have to re-create it in the phone.

When transferring, the songs just go into the phone not into a moved playlist(if that makes sense)

Thanks for the effort thou, appreciate it.

I don't know about WP8.1, but I currently perform this with WP8, and it is works very well.
I even use Auto Playlists with Random song ordering, and it will update the Auto Playlist on the phone, even when there is no new music in it.

  1. Open Windows Media Player
  2. Plug your phone in
  3. You should then wee it listed in the navigation pane on the left
  4. Right click on your device name and select "Set up sync..."
  5. I think a dialogue box opens up, and it allows you to drag Playlists on or off of your device
    1. There a few other helpful settings like Randomizing the songs in your lists
  6. Once you have this sync set up, it should persist every time you plug your device in.

Give this a try, and let me know how it turns out.

I have never had problems using the Windows Phone app for Windows 8 on my PC. I tried with WMP and found that the experience is not as smooth.
1.Plug phone in
2.open the app on your pc.
3.Add>playlist
4.it will copy the playlist and import the songs in one shot, if songs are already on your phone then it wont import anything but the playlist.
