In-built apps on lumia 925 dysfunctional after hard reset. Help?

I did a hard reset after my lumia 925 hung. After switching on, half the apps refused to open. Mail won't work, a few settings such as audio, call+sms filter, caller id, access point, etc. don't respond at all. And a lot of third party apps that require information retrieval over the internet don't work anymore (e.g., movie show booking apps, online food order apps, etc.) Reinstalling these apps didn't work either. The phone doesn't connect to the laptop anymore and nothing can be downloaded anymore over the browser. It's running windows 8.1 (denim). Please help.

Hard reset again and be sure you connect it to the charger. And give it enough time so do not interrupt the process.
