Incoming Calls Lose Typed E-mails

I have a Sprint Treo 800w running WM6.1, and I've discovered that if you are in the process of typing a text message (I'm using the built-in WM6.1 SMS messaging app vs. Palm's SMS app) and you answer an incoming call, the text message gets saved in your drafts folder. However, if you are in the middle of typing an email (I'm set up to use an Exchange server) and you answer an incoming call, the email text you typed seems to just be lost. Any ideas how to resolve this? Thanks.
