Infrared Filter Test ? Tags : IR Infra 1020 NEEWER IR720 IR760 IR850 IR950

I bought 4 IR filters with different cut-off wavelengths. This is my first quick test. These photos were taken at 10 AM on an overcast day in Southern California.

That's really cool. I'm contemplating getting a used 1020 for exactly this purpose...to experiment with.

As you have noticed, the 1020 lens is coated with an anti-IR filter. It creates that central hotspot.

The only way to get rid of it, according to my experience, is to shoot in RAW, and then try to process as much as possible to remove the hotspot (you can't totally delete it).

Thanks Scienceguy Labs. I noticed that with the 950 nm filter, the camera can't quite focus all the way to infinity. I believe a -1 or -2 diopter is required. I'll try that later.

If you do, please post your results. I'm curious to see what your results are with the diopter adjustments. I'm no camera expert...just a beginning hobbyist, so I like seeing results from experienced photographers.

I'm trying to get rid of IR filter inside of 1020 camera module.
How serious will that hot spot if I use 665nm IR filter if I just keep my IR filter?
