Instagram Campaign #2InstaWithLove!

WWith all due respect, I really think you're over thinking the situation. I think Nokia did this campaign as a way to show Instagram that there is demand for the app. And while I enjoy Instagram, I'd hardly say this app has anything in common with it outside of a filter option. And even then, Instagram doesn't have a monopoly on filters

The company Instagram makes a free product not because they love the world. They make a free app because if enough users use this then they can collect data. The future relies in big data algorithms and for this you need that data and you need it in large quantities. So you data mine it. And Instagram pays you in turn by giving you a free app and a free sharing platform. Good or bad it does not matter that is their business. So if you try to prove to a business partner that he can make money with his product in your platform you don't do a stunt like this you show him real numbers to convince him. For Instagram to profit it's not about existing demand(the app is free their social service is free) it's about existing enough users to make it viable to invest.

I'm completely fine with users demanding a product from a company. I'm against media moves from other company who use the image of a company for their own selfish interest.
