It usually is related to hardware. Contact Nokia Care. No other manual solutions so far on the internet. Will keep looking though, but highly unlikely.

Its a temporary BRICK. Just flash the 8.0 stock ROM back with recovery tool and your phone will be back. Maybe something went wrong during the update...

Its an external link which will give the instructions..

Keep in mind that it isn't really a reliable process and any mistake can permanently brick the phone , so please follow each and every steps for success!

I have been using Developer Preview 8.1 since it was launched.
It suddenly got bricked yesterday afternoon. Same situation as yours. Blue screen+ Sad smiley.
I was Googling for the solution, saw this post. There are no productive resposes here, no offence.

I downgraded my WP to 8 using Nokia Recovery Software Tool & it's working absolutely fine!!! =)
Unfortunately, I lost all my data.
