I love WP for my own "selfish" reasons, in the sense that it provides me with everything I need.. right now. That might change someday, but not right now. However I'm still aware that WP isn't for everyone, especially not for those who feel the need to have all the latest apps/games or in some cases the latest updates to those apps/games (Looking at you whatsapp) and this is the reason why I don't recommend the phone to everyone I know, because I don't want people complaining down the line.

Another thing I've grown used to, is the lack of "love" WP gets from Apple and Android users/bloggers, but every now and again, an article like this pops up and it helps to remind you of just how awesome our platform is and can be: An iPhone user's (surprisingly positive) experience with Windows Phone | Macworld

The thing that got me the most from this article was the phone he was using; Lumia 535. If he loved that, I wonder what the verdict would have been after two months with a 930 or 1520??

Windows on a phone is so good it's boring in my opinion :)
I use the venerable 925 to hotspot to other off platform devices.

You could say MMobile is at the center of my world.

I like the article ven...

A very nice article. It's nice to see a Blogger go out of their way to be honest.

Thanks for sharing, ven07.

Interesting article and quite rare to find a tech writer with such balanced point of view. Most WP related articles are mostly click bait hate stuff.

I know! So I was kind of wary, but after a few sentences, I realized this guy isn't trolling, so I read the whole thing. The user comments at the bottom were pleasantly filled (overall) with good things about WP as well

He also gave Android a try, and gave it a favourable review. Interesting that he preferred WP over Android though.

If I were ever to leave WP then it would most likely be for an iPhone. However Android phones do have their strong points.. So who knows where I might end up lol

iPhone is good for the reason being its an iPhone and nothing else...
WP is the best especially its value for money!!!
We have got low end that serves the purpose as well as well as high end which gives premium feel!
iPhone is something different and the strategies of the company is quiet different...

To judge whether a phone (or any device) is good or not you really have to use it for a reasonably long period of time (say, one month). Use it for your everyday's task (and fun). I appreciate this guy so much for his patience to try WP for two months.

And he also pointed out an important thing: do you really need to download all new apps? This is very personal. I believe even for iPhone users, there are still some who just focus on important apps they need. In other words, these iPhone users were potential WP users.

Fortunately I have some friends and colleagues who appreciate Msft products (like Surface Pro 3, they are amazed by its pen and light weight) although they are Apple fans.

So Msft should seriously consider "try-out" programs for Windows Phone (say, if a user finds the WP not satisfactory in one month, he can get a full refund).

I think they'll put out maybe one new phone and probably carrier locked.....

Doubt it :) As far as rumors go.. We can expect at least two new phones. One to take over from the 15XX line and (this hasn't been confirmed as much as the previous one) another to carry on the 9XX line.

Plus MS has deals in place with a number of manufacturers so we might see at least two more with very good/decent specs (M9 is one of those)
