Microsoft has recently moved Groove stuff to the Spotify app.Is it a move to make Spotify stay and prevail on the windows platform ?.

Essentially it is about relevancy. MS have a history of dumping any apps they create, and by partnering with Spotify, Spotify have to do all the heavy lifting. If Spotify could add OneDrive support that would be welcomed.

It's more of a getting-rid-of-Groove move. Any Spotify cooperation is likely a bonus.

I thought only the Music Pass service/subscription was going away, but sounds like you all are saying the entire app is being retired...

I take it as groove becoming the new Windows Media Player replacement.

Is the Groove Application itself being deprecated? Or are these just generalized statements about Groove?

The application itself is here to stay, the service is not.
