Hey i just got my first windows phone, my question is the screen always turned on whenever I received a WhatsApp/text message or anything, is it normal? Wouldn't it drain my battery sine the screen turns on even when I don't use it, is there a way to disable this? Sorry for bad English and thanks.

Yes, the screens always turn on with the notifications, but just when nothing blocks the screen. When the phone is facing down in a table or in your pocket the screen won't turn on.

Which phone are you using?

Well, it should be able to detect whether it is in your pocket or not, so it's normal.

Its Lumia 520. Well I'll just put it facing down then. Thanks!

Or you can turn Quiet Hours on if you have Cortana, the screen will stop turning on when you get notifications. Although your ringer and vibrations will stop too.

Thanks for all your suggestions, I'm starting to love this phone more and more despite some issues, mostly are from faulty apps. i also considering to get new gen Nokia device (Lumia x30) when its available here.
